By accessing or using Sterling at asksterling.ai ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Sterling is a financial analytics platform that provides standardized financial metrics, company-specific KPIs, and comparison tools for publicly traded companies. Data is sourced from public SEC filings, Financial Modeling Prep, and Yahoo Finance. The Service is designed for informational and research purposes only.

3. Account Registration

To access premium features, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Subscription & Billing

Sterling offers a paid subscription with a 14-day free trial. By starting a trial, you agree to the following:

• Your subscription begins after the 14-day free trial period ends
• You will be charged $19 per month or $149 per year, depending on the plan selected
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle
• You may cancel your subscription at any time — access continues until the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without our written consent
• Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the data or content provided by the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or billing

The information provided by Sterling is for informational and educational purposes only and should not be construed as financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other type of professional advice.

The underlying financial data sourced from public filings remains in the public domain.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sterling and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or investment losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be accurate or complete.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though provisions that by their nature should survive (such as limitation of liability and disclaimers) will remain in effect.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
